REASONING-FAST TRACK-2-CONCEPT REVISION
Logical Reasoning
Course of Action
The action or the step that is to be taken for improvement with regard to the problem on the basis of the information given in the statement is a course of action.
Try to find either the solution of the problem or the way to improve the given situation based on the course of action given.
The answer will be given like:
(a) If only course of action I follows.
(b) If only course of action II follows.
(c) If either course of action I or course of action II follows
(d) If neither course of action I nor course of action II follows
(e) If both course of action I and course of action II follows.
Simple Problem- Simple Action (Not a Complex One)
Suspension, Resignation will not be an immediate course of action but a warning.
Statement –Assumption
An assumption of a statement is the aspect of the idea behind the given statement (Assumption- suppose- Taken for granted).
The assumption should describe the idea behind every aspect that does not appear in the given statement.
Assumption can’t be:
Ø Restatement
Ø Contradictory
Ø Far-fetched reason
CAUSE AND EFFECT
In these questions, two statements are given and the options are like:
(a) If A is the cause and B is the effect.
(b) If A is the effect and B is the cause.
(c) If both the events A and B are independent causes.
(d) If both the events A and B are effect of independent causes.
(e) If both the events A and B are effect of some common independent cause.
First check whether both events are related or different events and then find the cause and effect.
STATEMENT AND ARGUMENT
1. STRONG ARGUMENT
2. WEAK ARGUMENT
STRONG:
Ø Universal truth
WEAK:
Ø Ambiguity
Ø Superfluous
Ø Simple information
Ø Self-opinion
STATEMENT - INFERENCE
In these types of questions, the options are given like:
(a) If the inference is Definitely True
(b) If the inference is Probably True
(c) If the inference is Definitely False
(d) If the inference is Probably False
(e) If the Data is inadequate.
Definitely True (directly follows) -100 %
Probably True (51 % to 99% -does not directly follows)
Definitely False ( 100 % False)- exactly against ( contradiction)
Probably False ( 51% to 99% False)- not fully against –partially opposing –
Some statement that is given in the question itself is definitely true.
Some statement is considered as probably true as it is the assumption of some statement given in the passage.
If some related data is missing then data is inadequate.
